Back in the middle of December I was rushed to the hospital with severe abdominal pain. After having a couple of ultra sounds and a CT scan the doctor made a few discoveries which they gave me a light explanation of and sent me on my way. The next day my doctor called me to follow up and discuss everything. The CT scan showed some concerns and he wanted me to have an MRI so we could get a better look. (Thankfully everything in the MRI was clear and I got the all good there. ) He also was getting me set up with a gynecologist to discuss the rest. A week later I met with the gynecologist and she told me the ultra sounds had shown very large fibroids growing in my uterus. The biggest is about the size of a softball and is crushing my bladder causing me constant pain. She was strongly recommending a hysterectomy but was referring me to another doctor for that. In the middle of February I met with the new doctor who agreed that I needed the surgery and started the process to get it scheduled. The date has finally been set for April 5th. Since this all started I have missed work and lost hours of wages for repeated doctors appointments. My emergency visit and all the testing/scans has brought in huge hospital bills and the upcoming surgery is just going to pile on more. Being out of work for up to 2 weeks without pay is terrifying, not knowing if I'll be able to pay my bills. Asking for help is not something I ever like to do but sometimes you need to admit when you need it. This is me admitting it. Any and all money raised will be going towards my hospital bills and covering my lost time at work while I'm home recovering.
