Please help Amy Weigand Cross the Finish Line at the 2026 NYC Marathon

She used to run twice a day and play sports. Then in her 20s, she became disabled — and for a while, she thought that part of my life was over. It wasn't. She found sled hockey a few years ago, and now found wheelchair racing is the next adventure. Racing in the New York City Marathon has been one of her lifetime goals, and she has qualified for the 2026 race on November 1st. This November, she is racing as a wheelchair athlete, pushing 26.2 miles through all five boroughs in a racing chair. She still get to chase that same feeling: the burn, the grind, the finish line. She still gets to live the dream.

Amy works at Ballard Landmark (plus a couple of other jobs) — this marathon is the next big goal on top of all of that work. Amy is amazing human being, kind to all and a friend to everyone. Lets help obtain this goal.

Racing in a wheelchair isn't cheap — even a borrowed chair. We are raising funds to cover:

The goal is: $5,000 toward her racing costs.

- Race entry fee

- Used racing gear (gloves, helmet, and other equipment)

- Air travel from Washington State to New York

- Luggage and equipment fees for airlines

- Lodging and meals for race weekend

- Travel gear needed to get me and my chair there safely

- Support for a travel companion/helper — I can't handle all the equipment by myself

- Local transportation and other unknown expenses that come up along the way
