Help Amy Walk Again & Support Her Recovery
Hi, my name is Dina, and I am one of Amy's besties. I am helping her reach out during one of the most difficult times of her life. Here is her story:
Just under a year ago, I made a big move away from my family, hoping to build a better future for myself and my child. As a single mom, every decision I make is with my child’s well-being in mind. Unfortunately, our lives were turned upside down when I was suddenly hospitalized on April 21st after rapidly losing the ability to walk.
After many tests, I received a series of life-altering diagnoses: a severe B12 deficiency, disease of the spinal cord, a lesion on my spinal cord, and a benign tumor. The damage has left me unable to walk and confined to the hospital for ongoing treatment and rehabilitation.
I haven’t been able to work since the day I was admitted. As days turn into weeks, I’ve fallen behind on rent, utilities, and other essential expenses. Being far from family makes this even harder, as I’m trying to manage everything on my own while focusing on healing and being there for my child.
In addition to daily expenses, my home needs accessibility adjustments, including modifying the front porch to accommodate a wheelchair/walker. These changes are essential for me to safely return home and regain some independence.
I’m asking for help to cover:
Rent and utilities
Basic living expenses for me and my child
Accessibility modifications for my home, including the porch
Transportation to and from appointments once I’m released
Every donation, no matter the size, will go directly toward helping us stay afloat and get me on the path to recovery. If you’re unable to donate, please consider sharing this page with others who might be able to help.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support, your kindness, and for giving me hope during this incredibly tough time.
With Love,
Amy
