Help Russ and Amy Vliet

The Vliet and Loudermilk families want to express our deep gratitude for all the prayers, love, and support over the last few days. Many of you have inquired about ways to help. We've started this GoFundMe to help Russ and Amy pay medical bills and other expenses that come with a medical crisis.

After spending 4 days in the hospital in early December, Russ was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer. Due to the trauma his body had already experienced, he has not been able to work since that time. They've begun receiving bills from his first hospital stay and from GI and oncologist appointments.

On January 13, the day after Russ began his first chemo treatment, he was back at the ER. Thank God they admitted him because he suffered multiple cardiac arrests the next morning.

Russ was transferred to Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta where he is receiving excellent care. In addition to his cancer diagnosis, there are significant concerns about his heart and potential kidney damage. He has some daunting medical challenges ahead of him and will be in the hospital indefinitely.

Amy has spent the last year completing her masters in special education and had just begun a job search when this crisis hit.
