My name is Amy, and I’m reaching out for help after a car accident turned our world upside down. My son Valor, who is autistic and nonverbal, and I were both injured. I wasn’t the driver, but my arm was shattered and had to be put back into the socket. Now, I need surgery and metal plates, and I can’t work. I was already just making ends meet, and now I’m struggling to keep up with bills and provide for my children. Valor is in pain and can’t express it in words—he just shows it, and it breaks my heart. We’ve been to the trauma center and children’s hospital, and we have more appointments coming up. I’m worried about his eye and the scars on his face, but most of all, I want to make sure he feels safe and loved during this hard time.

The funds from this fundraiser will go directly to keeping our electricity and water on, paying rent, and making sure we have food on the table. Valor needs wipes and diapers, medicine for his face, and warm clothes for winter. Our car is acting up, and every day feels like a new challenge. I was just getting by before, but now that I can’t work, I don’t know how we’ll manage. My biggest wish is to get Valor a simple playset for the backyard for Christmas. He deserves to smile and have something special, even with everything he’s been through. My daughter is older and understands, but Valor doesn’t—he just needs comfort and care.
