Help Amy regain her quality of life

Hi my name is Amy Allen (Lynn); on May 2, 2021 my life changed drastically. I woke one morning and was in severe pain in my stomach and my back so much that I couldn't stand it anymore. Although I had pain for about a year prior with celiac diaease, this different kind of pain took me to the Emergency room. A CT scan was done and I was sent to the Hospital in San Antonio to go into surgery for a herniated ischemic bowel. I came out of surgery and into the ICU, where I was for about 2 weeks and multiple surgeries later. My intestines did not close leaving toxins to leak into my stomach. At some point I developed clots in my superior mesenteric and celiac arteries in my stomach and 3 stents were placed; it was already too late and I had lost all but 6 inches (15.24 cm) of my small intestine. I became diagnosed with short bowel syndrome and placed on parenteral nutrition. Without parenteral nutrition, 6" would not sustain my life as my small intestine absorbs no nutrients at all. On May 7, 2021 after the 5th surgery since the 2nd of May, the surgeon entered my ICU room and proceeded to tell me and my family that I would not be making it through the night, hospice and other family members were called. My family gathered around me and prayed for an easy passing or a miracle. Moments later I was taken back into surgery. This day I received one of many miracles God has given me, he granted me to continue to live. I spent almost three months in the hospital with my last surgery on the 13th of May, my 7th surgery. I left the hospital on July 15, 2021. It has been a very long, very painful, emotional, scary, grueling healing process that I wouldn't wish on anyone and I am atill going through it all to this day. I continue homehealth and receive parenteral nutrition daily for12 hours so that I get nutrients I need to survive. Feedings are done through a central catheter I have in my chest. I continue severely malnourished and those of you who have known me, know I've always been a healthy size woman, its all I can do to keep my weight above 110#. I wanted to tell my story/ overview of what I have faced. I have been to the Cleveland clinic twice now for weeks at a time doing numerous tests, I am awaiting approval for a small intestine transplant. I am praying all goes well, I am sure ready to get back to a normal life, get me back and my quality of life. It is required that I live in Cleveland Ohio in order for me to be put on the donor list and once transplant is complete, I will be in the hospital for another 2 months and then required to live in Cleveland or close proximity for at least 6 months after leaving the hospital so that I can be watched closely and followed up with. My husband and I have saved and set money back but it won't last long with expenses that will be coming our way and carrying 2 households. I am unable to work because of my condition which puts a huge burden on my husband. I am asking for donations from my friends and family and if you could kindly continue to pass my story and Go Fund Me onto your friends and family and any contacts you may have it would be so very much appreciated. If I didn't need to ask, I wouldnt. If you have any questions or I can explain anything beetter, please don't hesitate to ask. God has watched over me and continues to, he has blessed me with many miracles in my time and may he bless each and every one of you.
