Help Amy Recover from Paralysis
Donation protected
My name is Amy Hallowes and I'm raising funds for my medical health needs. I have depleted my savings and my small inheritance and now I need you to help if you feel so inclined I would very much appreciate any donation.
Seven years ago, while taking care of my husband who had glioblastoma cancer at the end of the second year, I took a terrible fall. I lay for 3 1/2 days before someone found me and ended up with a crush injury, kidney failure, liver failure, and near death. I was in a coma for several weeks and in the hospital for three months. My co-pay wiped me out financially. I was saved, but I had a very bad injury which caused paralysis on my right arm and hand, which is extremely painful and gives me only about 25% usage. It is numb from the fingertips to the elbow, and the only sensation is pain.I was not able to get help as I was also trying to take care of my mother in her dying years up in northern Washington. Then came Covid then came my mother's death and there hasn't been any way to get to Superior medical care until I found a driver recently. We have been working on this for nine months and are still in the diagnostic stages ready to make surgery dates; that diagnostics isto make sure there is nothing more systemic going on but surgery is planned for my right arm. It's rather extensive and involves the nerves and moving them in hopes of getting some usage back and relieving some of the terrible pain. Due to having only one arm available while taking care of my mother that already had nerve damage as well it injured that arm mote too, which will also require surgery. The hospital I go to is four hours away in each direction and requires a driver as I cannot drive. The co-pays, the driving expenses and the help I will need to recover is beyond my means. I'm on disability currently and have a very small income. In addition, I am dealing with a plethora of other illnesses, but the most important is trying to get the use of my hands and arms back. It's been a real struggle for seven years and I'm still holding on to hope that these excellent surgeons at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle can restore me or at least get me to a level where I don't have constant extreme pain day and night. I've never done a fundraiser before; I never even thought about it but sometimes you just need to ask for help so that's what I'm doing. I hope you will consider my story and helping me. Thank you for your consideration. Big love to all of you.
