For decades, Amy has fought the autoimmune disease lupus, opened her home to adopted and foster children, rescued animals, and cared for her elderly parents. Through every storm, she has poured out love—even when her own strength was running low. Now, our beloved Amy needs our help!

Why she urgently needs us now:

Traumatic accident: Last November, Amy was in an ATV crash in Costa Rica that shattered her front teeth and broke several bones. After three weeks in a foreign hospital, she returned home and is now facing $20,000 in uncovered dental and surgical bills. Insurance calls new teeth “cosmetic” and won’t help. You can see some of her struggles reflected in the pictures below.

High-interest loan: With no credit or steady income, her only option was a CareCredit loan that jumps to 35% interest if it isn’t paid off within six months.

Lupus flare & kidney danger: Stress from the crash and personal trauma have triggered lupus attacks. Amy now needs $8,000 more for kidney biopsies, testing, and treatment.

Despite all of her setbacks and limitations, Amy still dreams of completing her Doula training and becoming a patient advocate—something she’s gifted at from years of personal experience. Amy never asks for help. But now… we’re asking for help on her behalf.
