Help Amy Rebuild After Devastating Floods in Western NC
Donation protected
Many of you have reached out, asking how you can support those impacted by the recent floods in Western North Carolina and Asheville.
I'm heartbroken to share that my dear friend and colleague, Amy Mackey, a compassionate nurse practitioner who works with me, had her home devastated in the floods. Tragically, she also lost her beloved dog, Scout, when the dam broke near Black Mountain, NC. As a single mother of two teenage boys, Amy has lost everything.
Amy did not have flood insurance because she was not in the flood plain. We are all heartbroken for her and want to help her with proper cleanup, temporary housing, supplies, etc. We are rallying to help Amy secure temporary housing for the next few months while she navigates this incredibly difficult time and plans her next steps.
100% of the funds raised will go directly to Amy and her boys to help them get essentials like clothing, shelter, and household supplies and put any remaining funds toward the cleanup of her home to try to salvage it, if possible.
Every donation, no matter the size, makes a difference. Thank you for your kindness and support during this time.
100% of the funds will go to her and her boys to get clothing, shelter and household supplies.
Even small donations are helpful!
Thank you for your kindness!
$1700/month for rent/utilities X 3 months = $5400
$600 for clothing, household supplies
Any remaining funds will go toward her home cleanup, if it is possible to salvage it. We are still in the process of finding out this information.
