Amy is a truck driver from Jonesboro, Georgia and a loving mother of two children, My brother Val and I. My mom has been out of work since February 2022 due to a severe Diverticulitis attack that caused multiple strictures in her large intestine, causing a necrotic situation that required immediate surgery for the removal of part of her intestine, requiring her to stay home to recover.
She has suffered from several complications along the way, and a subsequent surgery for the condition in May failed, and caused her to be hospitalized for almost 2 weeks. She now faces 6-8 more weeks of recovery until another major surgery. During this time, she has been unable to drive her truck and work to provide for the family, no longer has access to short-term disability benefits, and may lose her insurance, leaving the financial burden of her bills on the family. Her husband, my father Victor, is a line cook and has been working to support the family during this process, however the nature of her condition is leaving the family’s future uncertain.
We are raising money at this time to help pay for her multiple surgeries and inpatient time, as well as to relieve some of the financial burden on the whole family until my mom gets back on the road and can support the family again. We ask for your altruistic nature in these incredibly difficult times to help our family overcome these obstacles. Any amount would be greatly appreciated, and would assist us in getting through these uncertain and rough times a little easier.
