If you don't know me, my name is Amy. I am a 36 year old trans woman living with my cat Walter. My partner who I moved in with has cheated on me and left me. We had just moved into our studio apartment about 6 months ago. I don't take to crowdfunding lightly, but this has been a dire and unexpected turn in my life, and asking for help has become the best option I have at the moment.

After weighing many options, the best solution would be to try and remain in the apartment for the duration of the lease on my own. Leaving it early would incur fees and I would lose the security deposit, not to mention making it difficult to attain another lease in the future if I needed a reference. To move in I had to come up with about $3500, and I have not really recovered any type of savings since then, as I was not planning to move any time soon.

The current rent for the apartment is $1950, and I cannot afford to pay this amount on my own without falling behind on bills and other financial obligations, not to mention eating & caring for my cat.

My lease runs to Oct 1st, and I believe my partner will pay for at least April 1st (though I've asked her to try and be responsible for at least one or two months more). But after that I will need to cover 5 months rent. If you are able and willing to help me I would be eternally grateful. If you know me, you know I have a lot of stuff and moving and packing is a huge nightmare, and I would like to not rush into a new apartment or room that I will inevitably end up leaving anyway.
