My wife Amy Lyn has faced many medical challenges in her life, surviving stroke and heart attacks, living with Type 1 diabetes and sarcoidosis. Now Amy Lyn faces her toughest and most urgent battle.  In early May, a mass was identified in her bile duct and the effects of liver failure were making Amy very sick, very quickly.   After an anxious week of images, surgery to install a drain line and a lot of pain, we found out she has an exceedingly rare form of a very rare cancer, intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma.  And worse yet, two cancers growing equally in the bile duct.  Two weeks later, Amy Lyn could only be discharged via ambulance.  Eight hours and $7,000 later she arrived in Houston and was seen that night at MD Anderson.  After two more in-patient stays she is beginning her cancer treatments.  Unable to get into our RV, we are storing it locally and in a hotel room that costs $150 per night and after two failed attempts at wheelchair transportation, we are renting a wheelchair van at $110 per night.  Now having difficulty standing, we just rented a lift chair for $600 per month.  A month ago she was weak and needed medical attention while we were on my work assignment in Little Rock. We found out she was in liver failure. A few days later a drain was inserted and a mass biopsied. She has a very rare and aggressive form of bile duct cancer. Amy is currently at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston and is getting the best help possible to fight this rare and deadly cancer.
