I'm Amy, and I've been a high-risk labor & delivery nurse for 20+ years. It's NOT easy for me to ask for HELP as I was very independent.

4 years ago, I got HURT at work falling down stairs. I injured my ankle, knee, lower back, and neck. I have many MRI, CT, and nerve tests that show my injuries. I see 5 different WC doctors. WORKERS COMP only paid 70% for the first 2 years. These LAST 2 years, I've had NO INCOME to speak of. I pick up odd jobs here and there helping people out with their pets or pet sitting, as I LOVE animals.

Now my savings is all gone. My credit cards are all maxed out now. Workers comp is NOT an easy system to navigate, so I had to hire a lawyer. I FINALLY have surgeries scheduled this year. I've been getting epidurals in my back and steroid injections in my ankle and knee in the meantime.

I have NOT been able to work since my fall due to my injuries. I really could use financial assistance to HELP ME get through the next several months with RENT & UTILITIES. As I have these surgeries, recover, and undergo physical therapy. I have ankle surgery scheduled for the end of January.

I applied for social security disability 2.5 years ago. That is not an easy system to navigate either. I'm still battling this system that was put in place TO HELP PEOPLE when they need it most, supposedly...
