Hello. I am Amy DePew. Roland DePew is my husband. We met in 2012 and it was immediate love. We knew we were meant to be together. We lived, loved, and laughed. We dealt with him working away from home, storm work that kept him away for weeks at a time, his PTSD from Vietnam, and moving 500 miles when we found the house of our dreams with the most beautiful view in West Virginia. We found out he had cancer in 2023, but he was determined to beat it. We had our ups and downs just like any normal couple, but nothing would keep us apart...until January 9, 2025. He fought long and hard, but after going in for a routine procedure up in Morgantown, I got the call that no wife wanted in the middle of the night on January 9th. I lost him in the middle of a bad snowstorm and couldn't even get to him to say goodbye. Since I have lost him, I have found out all the bills that were left behind. Now it looks like I am going to lose our house. His was our only income as I am disabled and still fighting for my disability. He passed without a will and being legally married, everything comes to me...including all the bills, including medical bills that are over $250K. That doesn't include the bills from the last 4 months of ICU, CCU, chemo, and multiple hospital visits and stays. We also had to make the choice (hard but true) of paying for his medicines or certain bills...mainly the mortgage. Now I have to come up with all the back mortgage or I lose the house. I have already come to terms that I am losing the vehicle he bought me; losing the house is going to be losing him all over again. I hate to admit that I need help but this is my last resort. I have cried more than I thought was possible and I can't stand the thought of losing the last thing holding him to me. I just need to pay the back mortgage and have enough to get me through until I have my income. I don't want to live like a queen...just live with his memories surrounding me. God bless...pennies from heaven help too and I'll take all prayers I can get.
