Hi, my name is Tammy Kenniston, and I’m Amy’s sister. I’m reaching out on behalf of Amy, her children, and her two young grandchildren, who are facing a heartbreaking and urgent crisis.
Amy’s husband, Howard, was recently rushed to the ICU and is now on life support, battling a severe case of Legionnaires’ Pneumonia—an aggressive infection caused by contaminated water in their home’s air conditioning system. The prognosis is uncertain, and Amy is standing by his side as doctors fight to save his life.
But as if that weren’t enough, their family is also dealing with the imminent condemnation of their home, which has been deemed unsafe due to the same faulty AC system that made Howard sick. With extreme heat forecasted in Jefferson City (115°F+), they are at immediate risk of becoming unhoused—including Amy, her adult children, and two babies under the age of three. Their pets are still in the unsafe home, suffering in the heat, and the family has nowhere to go.
Amy should be able to focus on her husband’s life-or-death battle—but instead, she’s being forced to navigate a housing emergency, financial instability, and impossible decisions.
We are asking for your help to:
Secure emergency housing for Amy and her family
Provide basic necessities while they are displaced
Support medical and transportation costs during this crisis
Help them start over if and when their home is condemned
We don’t yet know what the road ahead looks like. What we do know is that they are losing their home, and they need support now more than ever.
Every donation, share, and prayer means the world. Thank you for standing with Amy and her family during this unimaginable time.
