Hi! My name is Amy, & in January of 2019 I was diagnosed with POTS. POTS stands for Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome & it is a condition that affects every aspect of my life. To get an idea of what POTS is, please check out this 4 minute video:

I experience harsh symptoms every day such as fast heart rate, dizziness, the inability to stand for normal amounts of time, the inability to sweat & regulate my body temperature, extreme fatigue, headaches, anxiety, digestive issues, tremors, tingling, pooling blood in my legs & feet, & insomnia. Yes. It’s a lot! After years of many doctors & many puzzled looks, I came to accept that I would live with these issues. Until I found The POTS Treatment Center in Dallas, Texas. This treatment center takes all aspects of the patient’s life into consideration & helps bring balance back to the body. There are five specialists that play a role in this treatment. A POTS specialist, a biofeedback specialist, a nutritionist, a physical therapist, & a psychiatrist. These doctors work together with me, towards an end goal which is living the life I was meant for: FREE of POTS symptoms!

The treatment program that I will be participating in has us (my husband & me) living in Dallas for two weeks. While there, I will meet with the specialists for 3+ hours a day for intensive treatment. After my time in Dallas, I will be sent home with specific tools to continue treatment via Skype with my doctors for 1 hour a day for 12 weeks. My hope & prayer is that this treatment will allow me to live the life I so badly want to live: to be able to walk in my calling as a worship leader, to be a healthy wife & mama, to be able to do the simplest things like driving, grocery shopping, cooking, & cleaning, & to be able to enjoy sunshine... without debilitating symptoms!
