Help Amy Cummins with Cancer Treatment

On January 10, 2022 Amy Cummins received the unexpected diagnosis that she had Stage 3 Breast Cancer (HER2 Positive). Amy had officially retired on January 7th (just 3 days earlier) from her job of 20 years as Victim Service Coordinator at the Sugar Land Police Department.
Results of a 3D Mammogram, ultrasound, additional testing and biopsies revealed 2 malignant tumors in her right breast and cancer in 11 nymph lodes in her chest area. In 2018 and 2019, Amy’s mammograms were classified “unusual”. Unfortunately, due to Covid, Amy missed her next 2 annual mammograms. Since no one in her family had ever had cancer, she really didn’t worried about getting it. In the meantime, Amy had discussed several nagging health complaints with her doctor - joint pain, inability to sleep, extreme sugar cravings, lack of energy, and unexplained weight gain - despite working out and eating healthy. Since these symptoms are common for women her age (50), it was assumed her various complaints were merely symptomatic of peri-menopause.
Amy’s aggressive cancer treatment plan includes 6 rounds of TCHP Chemo Treatments, Neulasta injections, surgery to remove either the entire breast or the 2 breast tumors, and removal of all affected lymph nodes, followed by radiation 5 times/week for 4-6 weeks.
Amy needs financial assistance to pay medical bills and help cover her normal household expenses while undergoing treatment at MD Anderson since she will be unable to work.
Amy’s prognosis is good and she is optimistic that she will beat this!
