Amy Blanding and her family need our support

Hi, my name is Tricia. This Go Fund Me has been set up to support Amy Blanding and her family as Amy will be navigating a legal battle over the next year, if not more.

For those that do not know her, Amy is a beautiful soul, and she is a strong advocate for our community and the voice for so many others. Earlier this year, Amy performed a song as part of a local community event, on her personal time. During this performance, a few individuals took offence to her lyrics and took action to try to ensure she would be punished. They were unfortunately successful, and Amy was wrongfully dismissed from her job.

Amy has since filed a lawsuit against her former employer; currently Amy’s legal fees are generously being covered by an anonymous donor, however she has, and will continue to incur travel costs to-and-from Vancouver for the legal proceedings. I also feel its important to note, this dismissal took away her families primary income. Amy has not been working for the past 6 months, on top of basic needs, she also has monthly medical expenses associated with a disability.

Any money raised will be to support her travel costs due to the legal proceedings, but also to support daily expenses and costs associated with her medical expenses from her disability, until she becomes employed. Any additional funds raised that are not used will be donated to help support others in the same situation as Amy – full transparency will occur when/if these donations happen.
