Dear family and friends,
It breaks my heart to write these words. This June my little sister Amy was given the devastating news that her Hodgkin’s lymphoma has returned. Many of you have walked with Amy and our family last year as she battled cancer through chemo treatments and was declared cancer free last August! This week she was told that it has returned in the same place as last year -her neck and chest. She is being called stage 2. Thankfully it has been caught early but has returned in the same places. (I might add that this is extremely rare). She’ll be starting high dose chemo and stem cell treatment very soon.
The goal this time is to hit the cancer hard with high grade chemo, the terrible part of that is it will essentially eliminate her chances of having children in the future. They have encouraged Amy to consider the process of egg harvesting. Amy has made the decision that despite the high cost she wants to preserve her eggs. The cost is over $9,000 and on top of that the necessary drugs cost anywhere from $3,000 - $9,000.
This is our time to rally around Amy! I know many of you supported her in many different facets that year and she talks about it often. Amy needs our financial help to make this egg preservation treatment possible. She was concerned about the cost, we want to help her and eliminate the stress of money during this already difficult time.
Your prayers are greatly appreciated, and this time your gift of money will go a long way. Amy starts treatment this week, so the sooner we can help her the better.
