Help Amy Battle Rare Brain Blood Clots

Hello,
I’m Brooke, and my mom, Amy, has had chronic migraines for the past 20 years. So when she gets one it’s not typically a worry. But, about 5 days ago she got a really bad one. Bad enough where my mom (who doesn’t have health insurance and knows how expensive hospitals are) told me to take her to the ER. After a CT scan doctors discovered she has blood clots in a vein of her brain. Causing swelling of the nerve, creating extreme pressure. This is called Cerebral Venous Thrombosis. They immediately admitted her and have done about 8 more scans since then. From CT scans, to MRIs, to Echos, contrast, no contrast, etc. Her neurologist said that in his 50 years of his job he has seen a case like her’s maybe twice. She is not presenting the typical symptoms prople with this issue usually come in with for example EXTREME sinus infections, inherited diseases, alcohol/smoking/drug abuse. Those of which my mom does not apply to. Without knowing why she got these clots we can’t treat it. Which means more tests and more money. My mom and I are not the “ask for money” type but considering I go to Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University which for those of you that don’t know is extremely expensive. And she will be out of work for a little while, thankfully her job and her coworkers are being very supportive. I want to try and take as much pressure off of my mom who is helping me pay for school. She’s amazing at worrying and thinking about the possibility of handing her money that could go to these medical bills makes me want to give this a shot. We have some more tests left and i’m right by her side every second of the day. If I can, I will continue to update this site. until then, thank you for reading.
Have a good day,
