UPDATE: I want to share a quick update with everyone who has supported Amy so far. She recently underwent a pelvic embolization procedure as part of her treatment plan. Recovery has been intense and painful, but she is continuing to move forward. The next critical step - excision surgery for endometriosis and treatment for adenomyosis, is approaching very soon, and we are still working to secure the funds needed to move forward. After that, she will require further vascular evaluation and likely additional pelvic vein intervention, as well as continued treatment for her conditions.
We are deeply grateful to everyone who has donated, shared, or kept Amy in their thoughts and prayers.
After years of setbacks and relentless effort and advocacy, Amy is still fighting for a real opportunity to improve her health and lessen her suffering.
If you feel moved to contribute or share this page, it would truly help us move forward.
Hello everyone, my name is Lorena and I am creating this fundraiser for my daughter, Amy.
Amy has been fighting a long and overwhelming medical battle that no young woman should ever have to endure. She has lived for years with severe, relentless pain, crushing fatigue, and several other symptoms that affect nearly every system in her body. Despite this, she has always pushed herself to stay strong, stay hopeful, and keep searching for answers.
Several years ago, her health declined to the point where even basic daily functioning began to require immense effort due to severe pain, exhaustion, and other debilitating symptoms. Simple tasks are physically demanding and often trigger significant flare-ups. Some days she is able to push through at a high physical cost, but her capacity remains extremely limited; other days, her body simply does not allow it. The intense pain runs throughout her entire body, particularly her pelvis and legs. The severity of the pain at times requires emergency room visits to help manage it.
After extensive evaluations, her doctors now suspect a combination of complex conditions including endometriosis, adenomyosis, pelvic congestion syndrome, dysautonomia (including POTS), connective tissue dysfunction, mast cell involvement, and possible intracranial hypertension. Together, they create a severe and complicated medical picture that requires specialized treatment.
Recently, Amy underwent a pelvic vein embolization procedure as part of addressing the vascular component of her illness. This was an important step, but it is only one part of a much larger treatment plan. She now urgently needs excision surgery for endometriosis as well as advanced treatment for adenomyosis. These procedures are only be performed by a small number of highly specialized surgeons. Following this, she will need further specialized vascular evaluation and likely additional pelvic vein intervention.
In addition, she requires intensive pre and post-operative care such as specialized physical therapy tailored for hypermobility, specialized chiropractic care for upper cervical instability, IV therapy, supplements, and other supportive treatments that are not covered by insurance.
As her mother, it breaks my heart to see her in this much pain and so limited in her daily life. We have done everything we can on our own, but we have reached a point where we cannot move forward without help. Amy needs this care to prevent further decline and to have a chance at a better quality of life.
I am humbly asking for support so my daughter can access the medical treatment she desperately needs. Any donation, no matter the amount, means more to us than words can express. Thank you for taking the time to read her story and for your kindness and generosity.
May you and your loved ones be blessed with health, peace, and joy.
