Hi! I'm Hannah Corneau :)
As artists, we face increasing challenges.
Funding for the arts is being cut, and many artistic organizations are being pressured to censor their work.
Now, more than ever, we must act to preserve the creative freedom that allows us to tell our stories and uplift voices that need to be heard.
This reality was brought home to me when a Broadway colleague—nominated for a Tony Award—reached out for financial support. I was shocked to see that even the most accomplished artists are struggling to stay afloat in this environment. Her vulnerability and the outpouring of support from the community was a powerful reminder of how vital our collective power is in times like these.
For me, this is about creating art that is unapologetically bold, fostering safe, inclusive spaces, and elevating the stories that deserve to be told. As a performer on Broadway in Wicked, I learned that true innovation in the arts happens when we prioritize equity, diversity, and collaboration.
This June, I’ll be directing The Wizard of Oz at THE CENTER at Rhinebeck, one of the most respected community theaters in the Hudson Valley. I also manage a thriving private vocal studio, serve as the Performing Arts Director at Golden Kin (a nonprofit artist residency), and am building a series of groundbreaking projects aimed at bringing new voices to the stage and music world.
But to continue, I need your help.
These artistic endeavors are focused on innovation, inclusivity, and amplifying voices that often go unheard.
Through workshops, new musical theater projects, and local theater initiatives, I’m working to build a future where creativity thrives, and all narratives are valued.
Your support is critical. Funding is needed for the infrastructure to make these projects happen: space rental, musicians, materials, advertising, and production costs. Every dollar you contribute will directly support the voices and stories that will shape the future of theater and music both in New York City and The Hudson Valley.
Here’s where your donation will go:
* Musical Workshops for local artists: “Discovering the Voice”
* Retreats for Musical Artists at Golden Kin
* Solo Concerts in the Hudson Valley and NYC (Joe’s Pub)
* “the Drama Club”: local professional theater company initiative
* Space Studio Rental and rehearsal costs
* Accompanists / Band Fee for rehearsals & performances
* Musical materials (print and digital)
* Advertising Costs for exposure
* Community Artist Salons at Golden Kin and outreach
* Production Recording Budget
Together, we can uphold a vibrant, innovative arts scene that reflects the world we want to live in. This is about making sure that voices and narratives continue to be amplified, especially when it feels like they’re being silenced.
Your support will make this possible.
I won’t stop fighting for the art we need.
Please join me.
With immense gratitude,
Hannah
