[EDIT (01/28/2026) COLLEGE TUITION HAS BEEN PAID. DONATIONS WILL NOW ONLY GO TOWARDS MY COLLEGE EXPENSES. ONLY DONATE IF YOU WANT TO.]
Hello. My name is Ammon Williams. This is the second fundraiser that I have done on this site, and I'm hoping that it can go as well as it did the first time.
For those who are crossing one of my fundraisers for the first time, I am a undergraduate in Barton College, majoring in Psychology and minoring in Graphic Design and English.
Last year, I would've told you that I was inside of DSS's 18 to 21 program. This time around, I've aged out of it. This has been a huge blow to me, since I depended on it so much to pay for the remaining funds for my tuition.
As I transitioned out of the program and was told they could not help me from this that point forward, I tried to find a job over the summer to help cover the costs. Unfortunately, I was yet again unsuccessful.
For those who did not see my original fundraiser from last year, I am eligible for an Educational Training Voucher which gives my college $2,500 per semester. Just like last year, something wrong happened with it.
I wasn't notified that the people I called to set up the process of obtaining the ETV had changed until I called them about it. I had to email new people, and went weeks without an update. I finally got one in the middle of October and was able to set up the process of obtaining my voucher.
However, this is not enough for this semester. When the ETV is finally processed, I will owe my college $1,532 dollars. Without it, I owe my college $4,032. If things would've worked the way I've hoped, I would've been either on a payment plan that would've been finished next month, or I would've paid off my tuition with the money I earned over the summer.
I have yet again went through all of my options to lower the cost for my current balance, but I have no real guarantee that I can lower it for this semester in particular. Next semester, I will no longer be living on the college campus or be on the meal plan, which is why I owe so much money.
As of right now, I do not know when is the due date for me to pay off my current balance. I was able to sign up for my classes, so in my knowledge, I do not believe I am in danger of not continuing my education. But even with this being the case, I want to pay it off as fast as I can to avoid any more problems.
Hopefully for the last time, I am asking if you have it in your heart to help me reach my goal. I know it says $2,000, but last year, I did not receive the full $612 dollars. I only received $589.42, which was still way more than the goal of $202. I was not aware of how GoFundMe operated, so I had no idea that I didn't get all of the money. $2,000 is just there so I know this money will fully cover my expenses for college. Any extra money left over will go to my school materials for the next semester, and possibly into lowering my student debt. I will NOT use it for anything other than for college related materials. That is not what the fundraiser is for, and I am already asking you all to trust me to use your donations for what you donated for. Please do not give me more than the fundraiser goal of $2,000.
This, again, was the last thing I wanted to do. If you can donate, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. If you cannot, please share this around. I appreciate any and all engagement to my situation.
Thank you for taking time out of your day to read my story.
