My name is Huda, and I’m reaching out to ask for your support in helping my beloved cousin, Amjed, as he fights for his life.

Amjed is a brave 24-year-old who was diagnosed with sarcoma last year. Amid the turmoil of the war in Sudan, which began in April 2023, Amjed and his family were unable to flee due to financial hardship. In September, a tumor began growing below his right knee, but with the ongoing conflict and collapse of basic services—including medical care and electricity—it was impossible for him to get the tests he urgently needed. Doctors advised the family to seek help in Egypt.

Our family came together and gathered enough funds to send Amjed to Egypt, where he was finally able to receive an MRI and other vital tests. Sadly, these confirmed that the cancer had spread and required immediate chemotherapy. Despite everyone’s efforts and sacrifices, the tumor did not respond well to treatment. In November, his doctors made the difficult decision to proceed with an above-the-knee amputation.

Amjed faced this challenge with remarkable courage and resilience. He recovered well from surgery and began another round of treatment over the past three months. Just as we hoped things were improving, we were devastated to learn that his recent PET scan showed further spreading to his back, lungs, and the area above the knee.

Now, more than ever, Amjed needs our help. The war has displaced most of our family, leaving us unable to support the mounting costs of his chemotherapy, medications, and potential surgeries.
