Hi I'm Alex Ivanov from the Netherlands and I want to help my friend Amjad Al Fayoumi to find a place to stay and be able to buy food and water for himself and his family in destroyed Gaza.
I know him from my previous visits to Gaza. Amjad is a talented young photographer and cameraman, who supports his family all by himself.
The money raised will be sent to him through the bank.
Here is his own story:
Amjad’s Letter from Gaza: A Filmmaker Who Refuses to Fall Silent
I write these words as someone who clings to his family, his friends, and the story that still needs to be told.
Before the war, I ran a small production company in Gaza.
We were a team of dreamers — filming weddings, documentaries, news reports, moments of joy and moments of grief. Then, everything disappeared.
My company was destroyed. My car was bombed. The second car I managed to get — also hit, while I stood just meters away.
Our homes too are gone — mine, and the homes of my colleagues. Reduced to rubble. Yet we remain. And we continue.
I am the only provider for my family — my parents, my brothers and sisters, some of whom have undergone surgery in the chaos of this war. I still support the team who once worked beside me, even though we no longer have walls to gather within, nor gear to carry. But we have something deeper — loyalty, responsibility, and purpose.
In these unbearable days, I am still filming. Without sponsors. Without safety. Without guarantees. I am documenting what life has become in Gaza — not just for me, but for the many who have no voice. This is not just survival. It is resistance through memory, through image, through truth.
This campaign is not just about keeping me and my family alive. It is about keeping the camera rolling. About continuing to be the eyes and ears of Gaza, for a world that cannot always see or hear.
If you are able to support, know that your help does not end with me — it echoes through every story I will continue to tell.
With gratitude and resolve,
Amjad
