Hello to you all,
The purpose of this fundraising is to allow Amjad Ashraf Al-Najjar - the young brother of Razan Ashraf Al-Najjar, a nurse of the Palestinian Medical Relief Society, who was murdered during a volunteer intervention in the east of Khan Yunes by an Israeli sniper – and his family, to survive the cruel and terrifying genocide perpetrated by the Israeli government in the Gaza Strip.
Razan was a 21-year-old Palestinian nurse and one of the volunteers who worked with the wounded, risking their lives, on the border between Gaza and Israel during the “Great March of Return” where Palestinian civilians peacefully demanded the lifting of the ongoing blockade in Gaza ; these rallies that began on 30 March 2018 resulted in 120 deaths and more than 3,500 gunshot wounds. One of the victims was Razan, who was murdered on June 1, 2018, by a fragment of a sniper bullet. She was wearing a white jacket of health workers under the aegis of the Palestinian Authority of the PMRS (Palestinian Medical Relief Society). This assassination has been reported by many media and international organizations, including the United Nations, which issued a statement expressing concern over the murder of a « health volunteer » in Gaza.

I met Amjad's mother, Sabreen Al-Najjar during the screening organized in the city I live in France by the association France Palestine Solidarité of the film directed by Iyad Alasttal in memory of Razan: « Razan, a trace of the butterfly ». This screening was organized as part of a tour led by the director and Razan’s parents who, despite their great sorrow, didn't want the crime of which their daughter was victim, to be forgotten. Following the screening of the film, Sabreen presented us with great emotion and pain, her daughter’s service vest, bloody and pierced by the sniper’s bullet. The courage of this mother is incredible. We exchanged numbers and have been in touch ever since.
Since October 2023 and the start of the genocide suffered by our Palestinian friends, I've kept in touch with Sabreen and lastly started communicating with her son Amjad, with whom we've become friends. He wants to be able to convey his own feelings regarding the inhuman cruelty they are facing and to help his family as best he can, so he asked me to open this fund. His family, like all Palestinians, has no home, lives in a tent and is constantly forced to flee to a safe place that doesn't exist. Death hangs over them every day, and Amjad will tell me how scared they are. He has sent me numerous audio recordings of the bombings and shootings they hear, terrified and trapped. He shared with me a number of videos showing the ruined streets of his hometown of Khan Younes. Photos of him before the genocide, smiling and happy, then some of him, now, standing on the rubble of what used to be his home.
Photos Amjad sent me - he's standing on the ruins of his bombed-out family home.
In his own words : " May God's peace, mercy and blessings be upon you. Hello everyone, I'm Amjad Ashraf Al-Najjar, I'm 20 years old. I'm the brother of the martyr nurse Razan Ashraf Al-Najjar. We are living in the most difficult circumstances and conditions, and have been displaced from our homes since October 7th. My family and I have lost our lives, and we need your help. Please help me by participating in my GoFundMe fund so that I can save my life and that of my family and relieve us from the famine that is spreading in the Gaza Strip. I have created this fund to build a future life for my family and myself and to help us face the hunger and cold of the coming winter. Any help is welcome : any donation, any sharing even if you can't afford to give money.
Please, my sisters and brothers, help us as much as you can. Stop by my side. I offer you respect, appreciation and blessings from the heart of genocide. I hope to God that no one will ever experience such difficult circumstances and this horrible war, and that all your lives will remain filled with happiness and joy. May God's peace, mercy and blessings be upon you".
