Help Amjad and his family to leave Gaza
Donation protected
Hello,
My name is Shirin Amrad.
I am from Switzerland originally but I live in Italy at the moment. I met Amjad when I visited medical projects in Gaza with a Swiss NGO some years ago.
He went through a lot of hardship in the past months because of the war. Amjad, his mother and his three brothers have lost everything and struggle to survive. I am collecting money for them to leave Gaza and to start building a new life in Cairo, Egypt, where Amjad's sister is living. Please read Amjad's story and help me to support him.
Thank you
Shirin

Hello,
I am Amjad, I'm 30 years old, I work in management and finance and my dream is to continue my PhD in management and start my own small family company in the field of marketing and finance.

With this war and famine, I lost 30 kilograms of weight, I was injured twice, and suffered a change in injuries due to the fact that my injury was sterilized with chlorine twice, due to the lack of medical supplies in northern Gaza.

My brother, Omar, who is 15 years old, dreams to complete his education in school and become a doctor. His current school was bombed and completely destroyed.

My brother, Ahmed, 28 years old, is a freelancer translator, his dream is to become a professional in his field, and study for a master’s degree in interior design.

My brother, Hassan, 32 years old, had a language and engineering training center to teach and train young men and women and prepare them for the labour market. It was equipped with all the tools, devices, materials, and equipped offices, but they were all destroyed in this war.

My mother, Um Hassan, is doing everything to continue supporting us. But the war has brought her many sorrows. We were a family of 6 individuals, but this war caused us to become 5 individuals after my father was killed on December 1, 2023, the last day of the last truce.

We were a happy family, and each one of us had a goal and a dream to achieve, but this war made us return to nothing. Our apartment was destroyed, so were our trees, our street and our neighbourhood. We were displaced 15 times since the war started and our dreams have become ruins, some washed away, some shelled, and everything collapsed. We no longer have a home, an office, work, or land. We haven't had a secure source of income for months. Now, we have reached the highest levels of poverty and displacement, living without shelter, clothing, food, water, electricity, or any semblance of a normal life.
We dream now to return to life, to reunite with our sister in Cairo and to have hope for a new future.
We will need up to 10'000$ per person to cross the border from Rafah to Egypt. After this, more wil be needed to reach Cairo and to start a new life.
Thank you for your support!
