Help Amira See Her Art Through New Eyes: A Journey to Vision

Dear Friends and Family,

I'm Sherry, and I'm reaching out about my daughter Amira, who means the world to me. At 25, she's facing a challenge that no young person should have to endure - Keratoconus in both eyes.

Despite this difficult diagnosis, Amira recently achieved something amazing - she graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi with her art degree. I wish you could see the pride in her eyes that day, even through her pain. As her mom, watching her push through the daily struggles while maintaining her creative spirit has been both heartbreaking and inspiring.

Living with Keratoconus means Amira faces:
• Daily eye pain and severe migraines
• Inability to drive herself anywhere
• Difficulty doing what she loves most - creating art
• Challenges with basic daily tasks most of us take for granted

There's a treatment that could change everything for her - a surgery called cross linking, which will be performed at the prestigious Moorfields Eye Hospital in London, England. This two-week treatment could stop her eye deterioration and potentially improve her vision significantly. Amira and I have researched this surgery extensively, and it offers our best hope for giving her the independence she deserves.

We need to raise $20,000 to cover:
• The medical surgery
• Travel to London
• Two-week accommodation
• Essential aftercare

I know this is a lot to ask, but I have to try everything I can for my daughter. Amira is such a determined young woman - she never complains, even on her worst days. She deserves a chance to live without constant pain, to drive herself anywhere she wants to go, to see the world clearly again.

Any contribution, no matter how small, would mean so much to us. If you can't donate, sharing our story would help tremendously too.

Thank you for taking the time to read about my daughter. Your support means the world to both of us.

With sincere gratitude,
Sherry
(Amira's Mom)
