Hello everyone, I hope you're all doing well. My name is Aminah Robinson, and I've gone back and forth on whether or not I should make a GoFundMe for this purpose, as I am 1. a very private person and 2. did not want to come off as a "freeloader" or like I am leeching off of people who are more than likely going through hardships of their own as well. However, I have been suffering in silence for quite some time and I am mentally, physically, and financially exhausted. I have finally decided to put my pride and anxiety to the side and ask for help.
Recently, I had issues with finding a place to live for over a year due to some of the most unimaginably insane circumstances I have ever endured. During this period of displacement, I not only lost my job (for reasons I would prefer not to disclose), but my storage unit was burglarized of over $20,000 worth of my valuables, including instruments, electronics, and some very expensive/rare collector's items. Family heirlooms and pictures were greatly damaged as well. I was only able to be partially compensated, as storage units have limited coverage (go figure).
To add to that, my mom and I had already been experiencing major issues with some so-called "family members," which we have yet to heal from and go to therapy for. Additionally, due to nothing being done to the thieves that robbed my unit the first time, they were able to rob my unit AGAIN (yes, you read that right). In the midst of all of this, one of my uncles passed away. Needless to say, I have been through absolute hell. I pray every day and know God has great things in store for myself and my loved ones, but sometimes these things are too much to deal with on my own.
I had to use the majority of the money from my storage theft (which already wasn't much) for living expenses. Due to that, I am currently having issues gathering funds for bills/additional living expenses. It would mean the world to me if any of you could donate just a little bit towards this cause. Anything helps, even $1. Again, I do feel a bit "icky" asking for donations, but I certainly would not do such a thing if it was not necessary. If you are unable to contribute, I understand, as times are really hard for everyone these days.
