Help Amin Ackridge Get To Hajj

Hello, my name is Saliha and this GoFundMe is for our neighbor Amu Amin Achridge. As some of you may know, completing Hajj (the holy pilgrimage) at least once in your lifetime is the fifth pillar of Islam. So this year, I am campaigning to help send brother Amin to Hajj so that he may complete the fifth pillar of our deen.
This is his story, in his words:
“Assalaamu Alaikum,
Dear family and friends. My name is amin Ackridge and I am a 63 year old Muslim man. I grew up as a Christian and my whole family (immediate & extended) were Christian. We attended church on most sundays and so, I was very familiar with the biblical story of the Old Testament of the Bible, about Adam, Abraham, Moses, and Jesus (may Allah be pleased with them all). At the age of 21, Allah swt lead me to the Holy Quran, and as I began to read the verses in the Quran, a lightbulb lit up inside my head and I knew then, without doubt, that this was the word of God and the religion I wanted to follow. I took the Shahadah shortly after and I started to learn how to make salah. I started giving to charity more regularly and these things came easily. One of the hardest things for me was to complete the fasting of the 30 days of Ramadan and my family didn’t understand what it was I was trying to do or achieve. They thought I had lost my mind and started calling me crazy, but still I never gave up my quest to get close to Allah swt. Thus, I have tried my best to fulfill the first four pillars of Islam, however, the fifth one still remains undone for me. It has always been my strongest and deepest desire to complete the fifth pillar of Islam (Hajj) before I leave this world, God-willing. However, despite my desires and my efforts, I have never been financially able to complete this, despite of working very hard to save the money.
Hajj, as I mentioned, is one of the five pillars of Islam that all believers strive to complete, and I am humbly asking for your help.
Jazaak Allahu Khair.”
This is brother Amin’s beautiful story and since it’s Ramadan, I am trying to get the ummah together to send him to Hajj. Please give what you can, as the saying goes, every dollar counts. Every single dollar goes a long way. InshaAllah we can make this dream of brother Amin’s come true in these blessed days.
