In July 2024, our lives changed overnight when I was diagnosed with HER2-positive breast cancer.
Since then, I have gone through chemotherapy, multiple surgeries, including a double mastectomy, radiation, and ongoing targeted therapy. It has been one of the most difficult and humbling experiences of our lives, but we have continued to move forward with determination and hope.
Now, I have the opportunity to become a patient at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, one of the leading cancer centers in the world, in hopes of qualifying for a clinical trial with some of the most advanced treatments available.
The financial reality of taking this step is significant. It costs $10,000 just to be accepted as a patient, and that does not include additional imaging, testing, or treatment that may be required. It also does not include the cost of traveling from Oregon to Houston for appointments and extended stays, including airfare, lodging, food, and related expenses.
We are hoping to raise $34,200 to help cover these costs so we can fully pursue this opportunity and continue fighting for our future.
Asking for help is not easy, but this opportunity represents hope and the chance to access care that could make a meaningful difference in our lives. Any support—whether through a donation or by sharing this page—means more than we can express.
If you’re able to help, your support will directly help us access this care and continue fighting for our future.
Thank you for standing with us.
