I am Rosemarie's only son and her only living relative. For the past 20 years, I have devoted myself to her care and comfort as she faced multiple strokes, back surgeries, a broken hip and wrist, dementia, and all the pain that comes with these challenges. Being by her side has been my greatest responsibility and honor, but it has also been incredibly demanding—physically, mentally, and financially.

Recently, I made the difficult decision to elect home hospice for Rosemarie so we can be together in her final days. This choice allows her to be surrounded by love and familiarity, but it has also brought a wave of new expenses and emotional strain. The costs of medical bills, daily living, and end-of-life arrangements are more than I can manage alone, especially after years of caregiving.
