Hello beautiful people! We are Amenda and Gavin Steen. We are asking for some help to complete a long journey that we have been on for many years now. I'll start from the beginning(ish). Both Amenda and I have wanted children from the start, unfortunately, I have a zero sperm count. Needless to say, we have to do IVF to make this happen for us. When we first learned of this it was depressing to say the least. Hopes started to darken and when we sought answers we were met with more questions. I was told the only way to see if I had anything at all was to be filleted open. So, we put it off to find another way. Then COVID hit and it got delayed even longer. We finally got to a point where we felt ready to give it a go and I was able to get 3 vials "extracted" and Amenda produced 14 eggs that together created 1 embryo. Even with just 1, we were overjoyed! After many years of wishing and hoping, many months of appointments and surgeries, many weeks of injections, days of tears both joyous and sorrowful, transfer day came! Success was so close, our hopes were higher than ever before! The transfer went flawlessly, We had a "baby". The checkups were showing positive outcomes. Then, the day of our first ultrasound, nothing. A blighted ovum or anembryonic pregnancy. We were broken in so many ways, our hearts and souls just seemed to drop out of us. For a time, neither of us knew how to deal with any of it. We felt like husks of our former selves. We started questioning everything, ourselves, our relationship, our lives as we knew it. Together, we cried, we fought, we supported each other, and we grew from the ashes becoming stronger and putting things behind us to move forward. Which brings us to here! We are giving this thing one more chance. Our new clinic offers embryo adoption and we have been matched with and have paid for our embryos! But that took everything we had.

All the funds raised here will go directly towards the actual transfer, medications, appointments, and the many labs that are required throughout the process. Every bit of support will help us move forward and bring us closer to growing our family.
