Help Amelia Return Home from ICU

My name is Amelia I am 8 months old. I was diagnosed with RSV. I got this virus at daycare from another sick child. Many kids get this virus and do not need extra treatment. However, for some it’s life threatening. I was admitted to the icu and did not respond to the high flow oxogen the way the doctors hoped. I am in the hospital waiting for the doctors to find a plan to get me home safely.

Unfortunately my family is now struggling financially. This unprecedented event is putting our home at risk. We are grateful to be at the best children’s hospital in Florida. The stay alone in the icu is very costly. It’s thousands of dollars per night. My mommy is a temp and does not get paid when she is out of work and by my side. We do not have any other immediate family in Florida to lean on.

If you can find it in your heart to donate anything helps. Even if you can’t donate but can forward this to anyone. We are truly grateful. We wish we had a village but we don’t. It is our wish this is seen by the right people.

We plan to use all donations to keep up with meals at the hospital and for our kids at home,

Gas for frequent trips to and from hospital since we have other children at home.

Expenses piled on for missed days at work with no pay. Dad exhausted all of PTO for emergencies throughout the year. Mom does not get any benefits as a temp worker.

Medical expenses not covered by insurance. The ICU stay is costly and is not fully covered by insurance.
