My name is Amelia Rowe, I am a 17-year-old sprinter from Perth, Western Australia. My journey in athletics began in Little Athletics when I was around 7 years old, I had no idea that this would bring me to where I am today. As I've grown, so has my love for running, particularly the 400m.
Recently, I had the opportunity to represent Western Australia at the National Championship in Adelaide, where I won Gold in the U20 400 with a time of 53.09, securing a new personal best and another World Junior Qualifier.
Winning that title was a dream come true and a testament to the countless hours of put in by myself, my coach, Brian Pozzi, my strength coach Bryce Gooch and my parents and their ongoing support
Now, I'm gearing up for even bigger challenges as I prepare to compete on the international stage for the first time. It's a privilege to wear the green and gold and represent Australia against some of the best athletes from around the world. But as exciting as it is, it also comes with its fair share of obstacles, especially when it comes to the financial side of things.
Travel, training camps, competition fees – they all add up quickly, and as a young athlete, it can be tough to cover those costs on my own. That's why my family and I have decided to launch this GoFundMe campaign to help offset some of the expenses and give me the best possible chance to succeed.
