Hi, my name is Mandy Hensley, and I am fundraising for my daughter, Amelia Owens. Amelia was born with a congenital amputation of her fingers on her right hand. Over the years, I have been amazed by how Amelia has overcome her limb difference. Lately, Amelia has been asking for a prosthetic hand. A prosthetic hand will help her do some of the things that are a challenge for her. Her goal is to grasp certain items, such as a water bottle and to be able to throw a ball with her right hand, among other things. We will be working with A Step Ahead Prosthetics in New York to be fitted for an "m-finger" prosthesis that will allow her to grasp when she bends her wrist. We hope to raise enough funds to cover the cost of the prosthesis and travel expenses from Georgia to New York. Any donations are greatly appreciated!
