Help Amber's Family in Their Cancer Journey

I am setting this up for my best friend, Amber. She is fighting a hard fight and needs help. Here's her story in her own words:

Hi, my name is Amber Swanson Mendenhall. I have been fighting rare, stage 4 sarcoma cancer for almost 2 years! I am still in active treatment and am getting chemo therapy every 3 weeks. The chemo is working and things are looking good, but fighting cancer for so long has been very expensive, not to mention exhausting mentally and physically!

Right now my husband doesn't have a job, although he is on the job hunt. This has helped me a lot, because he has been able to take care of me and our two young kids, aged 9 and 5, but it has also depleted our savings and more. We've borrowed money from Parents and Visa and now it's time to ask for help from our community.

We need money to pay medical bills, get gas for travel to the Huntsman Institute in Salt Lake City and to pay our mortgage and grocery bills. If you feel able, please make a donation to support my family on our cancer journey. Any donation no matter how small is appreciated.

I hope to beat this cancer, but it is aggressive. I have had surgeries to remove it from my intestines and lungs but there are still tumors in my liver and spleen.

It's been a lot and I'm tired. This may be my new normal for awhile. I may need to have chemotherapy on and off for years to come, but I'm glad for the time I've been given to watch my children grow. I've also gained a lot of patience!

Over the past two years we have received support from family, friends and neighbors. I'd like to take a minute to thank them for meals, babysitting, money, cleaning, gifts, hats to cover my baldness, taking me to appointments, visiting me at the hospital, calling, texting and praying for me. It's been such a blessing.
