Help Amber's dog Harlem survive.

My name is Amber and unfortunately my best friend and dog, Harlem, is very unwell and will die without treatment.
Harlem has been diagnosed with pure red cell aplasia. This is a condition where the precursors cell is reduced. There is an autoimmune component to this. Dogs with this condition can take a prolonged period of time, before there is evidence of the bone marrow regenerating red blood cells again. Therapy is usually over eight months. There can be a requirement for repeated blood transfusions until the veterinarian team can stabilize him.
It is therefore important for Harlem to have this treatment in order to survive. Harlem has dedicated his life to helping me over many years. This has meant the world to me, especially whilst I have been in a wheelchair.
Harlem is a very important part of my life and the lives of others. He is a much-loved member of the lifestyle team at Estia Aged Care. The residents have been told he is "on a holiday" as we didn't want to upset the residents while Harlem is undergoing treatment. He is a very special dog and I will do anything I can to ensure he survives.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart, Amber
