My daughter was born prematurely after I suffered a fall that caused a placenta abruption. Since birth, she has struggled with severe torticollis, which makes it hard for her to keep her balance and puts her at risk for serious injuries. She has already been hospitalized four times because of falls, fevers, and seizures, and despite all the therapy she’s received, she still faces these challenges every day.

We’ve tried to get her a protective helmet to keep her safe, but our insurance has denied coverage twice. The helmet is essential to prevent further injuries and give her a chance to thrive. She also needs ongoing therapy to help her recover and build strength, but the costs are overwhelming.
