Donate to help Amber secure safe housing by March 5th!
Donation protected
Update: I have received order to vacate my unit my March 5th by order of the Residential Tenancy Act of BC. I have secured an apartment, and require $3,531.42 to move in to my new apartment March 6th. I can If I do not vacate on March 5th my landlord will contact a bailiff to remove me and my items. I am terrified of this, due to trauma of being removed from my home as an Indigenous teen. I am also scared for my safety as I am a non binary/trans Indigenous person and face violence when in public- being homeless would put me at higher risk for this. I am asking for help to cover this deposit, as well as moving truck (200) movers (200-400) groceries for my first month (200+).
I start a new job on March 7th!! However this is not in time to secure safe housing. When I can reach my goal, I can secure safe housing basically tomorrow!!!!
Thank you for your time and energy and money. It means the world and is truly life saving.
Background:
Hello my name is Amber Crittenden. I am an Indigenous artist and human services professional from the Metis Nation of Alberta. In December 2024, I was let go of my job for reasons out of my control and my EI was cut off mid January, leaving me with zero income. I am raising funds to pay rent and take care of medical expenses until I find a new job.
This is important to me because I will be homeless if I do not come up with February rent and I won't be able to pay for my medications. All funds will go to my January balance of rent (700) and take care of February and March rent (1675/month). This still leaves me with room to find a new job and get my first pay. This fundraiser will allow me to focus on finding my new job instead of stressing about becoming homeless.
Every bit counts, kinanaskomitin, thank you for your support!
