We have some sad news to share with you. Amber Preisinger, (sister, mother, daughter, wife, best friend, teacher at TCC for the past 16 years), was diagnosed with Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia T cell.

Let us tell you a bit about Amber. She has been married to her husband, Cal, for 12 years. They have two children, Isaac (8) and Alexa (6). Both children attend Lake Region Christian School. Amber is a woman of strong faith, and is determined to fight this fight with all that she has! She knows that her greatest weapon is her faith.

Amber was fortunate to have a fast detection and diagnosis after a reaction to her COVID-19 vaccine. Had she not gotten her vaccine, we just don't know how long this could have remained undetected. Within a day of her diagnosis, Amber was transferred to The Mayo Clinic to begin treatment. Cal has been staying with her, and her parents are, thankfully, able to take care of the kids so they are able to finish up their school year and keep their lives as close to normal as possible. We're all extremely grateful that she has the best care so close to home. Unfortunately, it's not THAT close to home.

Amber's treatment will be a long process. She began Chemotherapy on April 20th and will continue to receive this treatment in the hospital for the next 28 days. After that, outpatient treatment will begin. This treatment will last at least seven months, and she must remain in Rochester in order to be at the hospital once a day to receive treatment. She and her family have secured temporary housing during this prolonged period. It is important to Amber that she has her children with her during this time, and her kids need their mom.

Amber's prognosis is positive. This is very treatable. That doesn't make it an easy fight by far. We shared earlier that Amber is a woman of faith. She's believing for a miracle. She requests your prayers. She believes strongly in the power of prayer, and is asking for all the help she can get to move this mountain! So we're asking you to please join us in praying for Amber, Cal, Isaac, and Alexa.

For those of you who know Amber, you know what an amazingly special person she is. For those of you that don't, please take our word for it. This world is a better place with Amber in it, and we need to fight this battle with her.
