and I need help getting my truck legal. I currently live in it with my dog and stay on the east side of Kauai. I need it legal so I can drive to work on the North Shore. I also deliver Uber Eats for extra money.

My car broke down again for the 4th or 5th time. There were many problems with it that needed to be fixed because it had a long life before me. I didn't have the money to buy another vehicle. My friend gifted me this truck that runs great, which was such a blessing, but it's not legal. It is 3 years back taxed. Since it's not legal, I'm struggling to make money that I use to eat with and buy necessities. I'm also in the process of trying to save for a place, and that's not possible at the moment. It's also coming into the rainy and cold season, and the truck is warm and safe. My car was not; the doors leaked, and I could smell mildew somewhere. The longer I wait, the more expensive it gets. Anything helps, and I wouldn't ask if it wasn't very important to me and my dog, Makana. I clean vacation rentals for my mom on the North Shore, and November is a slow month. I have my appointment next week on the 19th with the DMV. Here below is the estimate of the cost. My mom is willing to help but can't afford the whole thing. Any help will be gratefully appreciated and worth every penny.
