Hi, my name is Chrisea, and I’m raising funds for my best friend, Amber Rezk—an incredible woman and devoted mom to two beautiful little girls: Emma Rose (turning 3 in June) and newborn Guinevere, born mid April, 2025.

Amber has been suffering for years with severe TMJ disorder. Her jaw is dislocated on both sides, with worsening damage and pain that now affects every part of her daily life—eating, smiling, speaking, and even just laughing with her daughters.

In February 2024, an MRI confirmed the severity of her condition. The scan showed:

• Complete anterior disc displacement in both TMJs

• Flattened and eroded joint structure on the left side

• Large joint effusion (fluid buildup and inflammation)

• Disc deformation and translation causing mechanical dysfunction

Amber is in constant pain—from tension headaches and nerve exhaustion to ringing in her ears and vision issues. She’s also had unnecessary procedures along the way, like a root canal that didn’t address the real issue. All of this is worsening every day.

Her best chance at healing is a neuromuscular orthopedic treatment plan through Hampton Roads Cosmetic Dentistry. The treatment includes:

• Initial evaluation and impressions

• Bite development and muscle reprogramming

• Two custom orthopedic appliances (day and night) to slowly reposition the jaw over 4–6 months

Cost of the full TMJ treatment: $6,350 (as outlined in the treatment agreement). Following that, braces will cost an additional $8,000 to permanently stabilize the alignment and prevent relapse.

And none of this is covered by insurance—dental plans do not cover TMJ treatments, despite their medical necessity.

Amber is blessed with a loving and hardworking partner, WD, who is doing everything he can to support her. He works tirelessly—often long hours—and never stops when he gets home. He helps care for the children and constantly looks for ways to ease her pain and lighten her burden. But this is more than they can handle alone.
