Hi friends,
I'm Amber! If you know me, you know I'm just a regular #gamer gal. You might also know that last June, I was diagnosed with 2 tumors on my liver, 1 in my left breast, and another mass on my pancreas. That's scary!
Luckily, I'm doing great with my recovery. I'm focusing on my liver, and about 1/3 through a series of surgeries designed to shrink it and get me back into fighting shape. Not so luckily, all of this happened when I was a freelance worker, which means I was paying a lot of my insurance out of pocket.
That's not the case today, but I'm paying back a LOT of older bills from then! So many that it's tough to save now, and tough to pay off expenses for the procedures I have today.
So what's that big huge number going for? Let's break it down:
- Medical bills. Due to the range of my conditions, I've currently got a balance due at 3 major hospitals. Whoops!
- Nurses for help around the house. On my bigger procedures, sometimes I've needed to have a nurse come into my home to help monitor me, set up my house for accessibility, and alert my doctors.
- Recovery costs. This includes physical therapy, accessibility tools, and premade meals.
- Other bills! It turns out I still have to pay rent and utilities when I'm in the hospital for weeks at a time. Who knew.
This is obviously very heavy and scary, but I can't express how grateful I am for the friends that have helped me so far, or for you for even reading this much! Thanks for your consideration, and thank you if you donate!
