My name is Lisa and I am raising funds for my good friend, Amber. Amber is a single mother to 3 amazing children. She also is a caring and compassionate nurse who selflessly puts other's needs before her own. She has dedicated her life to helping other people recover. Now she is facing a challenging recovery herself as she struggles to recover from the financial burdens she has faced due to her recent cervical spinal compression injury, surgery and recovery. The injury has caused debilitating headaches, loss of balance, frequent emergency visits and a surgery, leading up to time off of work and loss of income. Amber was off of work for 3 months and although she received short-term disability, it wasn't enough to cover all of her medical bills and living expenses. Amber has had to pick up extra shifts and it still is not enough to pay what is owed. Amber's medical bills are mounting and she is struggling to cover basic living expenses that come with caring for 3 children. This fundraiser is a way of helping Amber to get back on her feet and to help her focus on her family and recovery instead of all the financial stress she is going through.
