My name is Amaya Lang, and I’ve always believed that no matter where you start, hard work and determination can carry you forward. I rank in the top 5% of my class, earned straight A’s throughout high school, and I will be graduating with my Associate of Science, summa cum laude, before I graduate high school. I also earned a softball scholarship to Harris–Stowe State University, where I’m excited to continue my education and pursue my dream of becoming a doctor.

This year has tested me in ways I never expected. A family crisis separated me from my mother and took away my main source of emotional and financial support, along with reliable transportation. This has placed an extreme emotional and financial toll on me as I have had to figure everything out alone. Instead of giving up, I chose to keep moving forward. I’ve continued to show up every day for my education, my sport, and my future, even when things felt uncertain. I’m proud of how far I’ve come, but I can’t take the next step alone.

I’m asking for support to help with transportation, senior milestones, and the essentials I need to begin college strong.
