Hey Family and Friends,
Cj here, and I wanted to take some time today to raise funds and celebrate Amauri for being selected to attend the National Youth Leadership Forum (NYLF): Engineering.
Last year, he had the opportunity to attend the University Of Maryland for their Artificial Intelligence Summer Camp. This year, he has been invited to attend George Mason University from August 1st to the 8th, 2021. Here is a letter directly from him on what this experience will mean to him and why he works hard to achieve his dreams.

Hello, My name is Amauri Hampton. I currently attend North Point High school in Waldorf, Maryland. I have a passion for computer science and Engineering. The challenge of solving a puzzle from scratch and finding the mistakes along the way are the reasons for my passion. I recently attended a summer program named AI4ALL and received hands-on learning with University professors at the University of Maryland at College Park. The teachers there helped me and fellow camp attendees display a robot named Nao, which could dance and learn how to recognize hand gestures using neural networks. The world of computer science is rapidly growing with time. I will use my opportunity to make a difference in this world, and overall, show the true power of education.
This summer, I have the chance to increase my knowledge in computer science and engineering. George Mason University has invited me to attend the Envision Engineering Program over the 2021 summer. The program is a week-long experience that helps rising scholars learn more about engineering and shows what college campus life looks like at one of the top universities in the country. The Envision engineering program provides hands-on learning and allows me to discover my future career passions and enhance college and career planning skills. I will use the fundraising for the tuition for attending the camp and the transportation to and from the university. This will mean so much to me if you can potentially support me through my journey of finding my passion. This is only the beginning of the journey of building my education experience with my career path. The chance to attend the Envision Engineering program will mean so much to me. This will show that hard work really does pay off. The opportunity will help me display to my siblings that education is important and requires time and effort outside of school.
