Hello, my name is Olivia, and I am reaching out to you with a heavy heart as I navigate a difficult time with my 5-year-old son, Amari. Amari has always been a healthy, active child, full of energy and curiosity. Before all of this began, he was thriving—running, playing, and lighting up every room with his smile.
Throughout the years, Amari began displaying signs of potential seizures, tics, and other behavioral changes. After a few days of testing at the hospital, Amari was hooked up to EEG and heart monitors, which was extremely uncomfortable for him. We are now waiting on further tests—including neurological scans, behavioral consultations, and autism assessments—to help us determine what’s happening in his little body. The road ahead is uncertain. We are hopeful that the cause may be something simple and manageable, but we’re also prepared for the possibility that this could require long-term care or medication. Regardless of the outcome, I’ll need to take 2-3 months off work to stay home with Amari and support him through this process, which will unfortunately impact our family financially.
We are asking for help to cover the cost of medical expenses: co-pays, specialist visits, and necessary tests (including sedated procedures for Amari); daily living expenses like rent, groceries, and other necessities while we transition to a one-income household; and behavioral consultations and testing for autism to help us fully understand Amari’s needs and ensure he gets the best care possible. This situation is incredibly stressful, both emotionally and financially, but we remain hopeful that with your help, we can focus on getting Amari the care he needs without worrying about bills. Your support will make all the difference as we go through these next few months, hoping and praying for answers.
This holiday season, your support will help us focus on what matters most—Amari’s health and happiness. Any amount you can contribute—big or small—makes a real difference. Even if you cannot donate, sharing this fundraiser would mean the world to us. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for taking the time to read Amari’s story. Your support, your shares, and your prayers truly help more than you know. Wishing you and your loved ones a joyful and peaceful holiday season. With love and gratitude, Olivia & Amari.
