Greetings! My name is Amari Gilkey, and I am a 21-year-old honors student currently pursuing my junior year as a Social Work major. I am thrilled to announce my candidacy for the esteemed title of 96th Miss KSU! My passions lie in the vibrant world of musical theater, where I find joy in storytelling and performance, and, more importantly, in uplifting and empowering my community through service and advocacy.

My roots at Kentucky State University run deep and strong, woven into the very fabric of my family history. As a proud third-generation KSU legacy, I carry the torch of tradition and excellence passed down through generations. I hold my HBCU in immense esteem, recognizing its profound impact on my family and countless others. I have so much P.R.I.D.E. in my school – a deep-seated sense of Purpose, Resilience, Integrity, Determination, and Excellence that defines the KSU spirit. My platform centers around Promoting Respect, Integrity, Diversity, and Equity on our beloved campus. I believe these values are not just words, but essential pillars for fostering a thriving, inclusive, and supportive environment where every student can reach their full potential. As Miss KSU, I would dedicate myself to embodying these principles and championing initiatives that strengthen our community.
