Help Amara Secure Permanent Housing
Donation protected
Amara Desta Korley, is a 25-year-old Afro-Dane artist born in Brooklyn NY, raised between Harlem NY, and Denmark. She is a crucial member and resource our Brooklyn community and has been an advocate for accessibility services within major institutions.
Amara has experienced housing insecurity due to racial discrimination and lack of finances to secure housing. Amara has once again found herself housing insecure, and has to move out by the end of the month 1/31/2021. It is more crucial now than ever to secure stable housing for Amara during the COVID-19 Global Pandemic.
With this $12,000 Amara will be able to guarantee rent payments through 2021, which would allow her to focus on her job search, and monetizing her art!
From Amara to you:
"Your support would feel like I have a community, and a sense of security that I've never had. I'm not a person with familial money, or safety net. With these funds, I will be able to better provide for myself, and focus on creating for my community.
I am super grateful for anyone who sees this and takes the time to read this. Giving parts of your day to consider my gofundme and my needs, to consider where you spend your money and where/who you are giving to brings some light to a dark period in my life. Knowing that others are thinking of me and that I'm not really alone in this means everything."
